SunGlow (“the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is developed by AppToDesign to help users track sunlight exposure, understand Vitamin D generation, and improve overall wellness while keeping privacy and data protection at the core of every feature.
Your personal information stays yours. This policy explains what data we handle, how it is processed, and the controls you have.
1. Information We Collect
SunGlow only collects information necessary to provide its core functionality.
a. Device & Usage Data
- Anonymous app analytics such as screen views, crash reports, and feature usage.
- No personally identifiable information is collected for analytics.
b. Location Data
- Used to determine UV index, temperature, and sunlight intensity for Vitamin D estimation.
- Access is requested only when required and processed entirely on-device.
- Location data is never stored or shared externally.
c. Health Data (Apple Health / HealthKit)
If you choose to connect Apple Health, SunGlow may:
- Read: Sun exposure, step count, active energy, and related wellness metrics.
- Write: Vitamin D estimates and sunlight exposure summaries.
All Health data access occurs through Apple’s HealthKit framework and is processed and stored securely within your Health app.
SunGlow never uploads, transmits, or sells HealthKit data. Connection to HealthKit is optional and can be revoked anytime in Settings.
d. Face Data & Image Processing
- When you take a selfie, SunGlow analyzes skin tone and texture to estimate Vitamin D absorption.
- No facial recognition, identity detection, or biometric mapping is performed.
- Processing happens locally on your device using Apple’s Vision and Foundation frameworks.
- No photos or derived facial data are stored, uploaded, or shared. The analysis occurs in memory and is deleted immediately afterward.
e. AI Suggestions and On-Device Intelligence
- SunGlow uses Apple’s Foundation Model and Apple Neural Engine (ANE) to generate personalized insights and suggestions such as sunlight timing, Vitamin D guidance, and mood-based recommendations.
- These AI computations run entirely on-device, offline — ensuring your data never leaves your phone.
- No AI-related data is sent to external servers or third-party APIs.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected data solely to:
- Calculate Vitamin D exposure and sun recommendations accurately.
- Generate personalized, offline AI insights.
- Display UV and weather conditions from Apple WeatherKit.
- Sync optional wellness data with Apple Health.
- Improve app reliability and experience.
We do not use or share your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage & Retention
- All sensitive processing (face, AI, HealthKit, location) happens on-device.
- Aggregated analytics data is anonymous.
- Face data is never stored.
- Users can delete all app data by uninstalling SunGlow or revoking permissions.
4. Data Sharing
SunGlow does not share your personal data, Health data, or face data with any third parties.
Weather information is fetched anonymously from Apple WeatherKit.
AI processing and insights generation use Apple’s on-device Foundation Model and Neural Engine, ensuring full offline operation.
5. Permissions and User Control
We may request:
- Location – for UV and Vitamin D estimation.
- Camera – for optional selfie-based skin analysis.
- Apple Health – for syncing Vitamin D and sun exposure data.
All permission prompts follow Apple’s privacy guidelines.
If a permission is denied, certain features may be limited. You can change permissions anytime in Settings → SunGlow.
6. Security
- Sensitive data is protected using Apple’s secure frameworks (HealthKit, CloudKit, Vision, Foundation).
- Local storage is encrypted and sandboxed.
- No third-party SDKs or tracking frameworks access user data.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Revoke any permission via your device settings.
- Delete your data by uninstalling the app.
